CreataCard 3 does not work on Windows 10 so will not work on Windows 11.
I still think it was the best one and still use it on an old Windows XP PC which I use for other old software that has never been improved.
I have all the software versions and have used them all the time. Now i can no longer get the downloaded offerings from AG. Is there a place for that? I bought the software each time, but now can only get the preloaded cards.
While most public print places, like a Kinkos, do not carry the program for printing purposes, AGC does work well with most home systems and I've not had any problems with it working on W7 Home or Ultimate OS's. I use it mainly for the business card feature, as it has the ability to use both sides, and not just the front.
In Windows 7 you can install virtual PC and XP mode, they can run the CreataCard 3 software. You should have someone technical do it as it can be complicated.
I have used the original CreataCard Gold 3 for many many years and have not had success installing it on updated computers. As a last resort, I have saved an old laptop computer - just to run this program and files that are saved to the hard drive. I tried to save the old files to an old "diskette" ( using an external device ) and then save them to newer computers, but they cannot even be viewed in the newer computers. I get a message from "collage creator" that the trial version has expired ( must have been eons ago and I have no memory of a trial version ) and that I would have to purchase ( the probably now antiquated or unavailable) program to view the files. I agree with the others that I have never found a newer program that I like as well as this one in terms of ease and versatility. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding how to view or save old files on newer programs/computers? I hope American Greetings is listening
Same here. I have used the "gold" for years and loved it. My computer crashed, so I had to get a new one and it has Windows 10, and it won't install. I am lost. I cannot retrieve my old files now, and my calendars. I had tons of stuff that I saved. I miss the "forget me not", with all my addresses in it and, unfortunately, I didn't make hard copies of them.
Thanks, Terry. I'm a little bummed too because my card making programs will not work with Windows 10. My Windows 7 laptop stopped working and everything worked in that laptop. I'm glad I kept my old Vista laptop but I only use it for making cards, labels, etc. And it prints everything just fine. It's not fair that Windows 10 won't let us use our old software.
I have CreataCard Gold 3 on my XP computer, How can I get it to go on my new computer which is Windows 7? It is 64-bit and it says not compatible. Any help please! I love this program and have been using it for many years, and don't want to try to find something else.
Can't get rid of "Preparing Index for First Use"...Platinum 7 worked just fine up to Win 7, now in Win 10, it doesn't want to get beyond "Preparing index for first use". I've installed, restart with all 3 phases; typical install, minimum and full. Same old problem and Broderbund has no remedy.
I have the Platinum 6 but now all my graphics and saved cards are not opening and I cannot for the life of me locate the three CDs. Can anyone send me a soft copy of these CDs? All my files are a waste without them.
I have the 3 CDs, but I'm afraid of losing them. Have you tried eBay or Amazon? I ordered a laptop a few months ago & specifically bought Windows 7, not 10 so I could continue using the program. Strangely, it works on the laptop with Windows 7, but won't work on the pc with Windows 7. Also, I ordered a family member a new Windows 10 pc, & the program half works. It loaded fine, but when you try to work with preloaded cards, it says there is a problem & closes. When you click on work on your own, the programs works fine. We've made several cards using the work on your own option, but we would like to use the whole program. Strange.
I love Create-a-Card Gold. I have it on Windows 7 but have been having problems now with it freezing up. Don't know if I need to uninstall or reinstall or what, but I surely wish they would come out with a modern update.
1998 I purchased the first Creatacard CD Rom and uploaded the program. I made the most beautiful cards and gorgeous personalized stationery. After purchasing new computers, I no longer have any American Greetings Graphics. I am devastated. What can I do to get the graphics American Greetings published on the first Creatacard CardMaking CDs? I wish someone could give me some advice or direction.
